My Story

I started the Perinpanayagam Literacy Initiative after realizing how many books were collecting dust in my own home—while others in my community were in need of them. What began as a simple idea turned into action when I went door to door, speaking with neighbors and collecting donations face to face.

Over time, I built a small but dedicated team, and together we expanded from one neighborhood to the next. We set up assembly lines to sort and organize every book, ensuring each one found a new home. Today, those books are being shared across the Detroit area—through Little Free Libraries, local schools, and larger community donations—helping spread knowledge and opportunity one page at a time.
